Definitely not.

I normally don't like power metal, but this album keeps a very good atmosphere and the vocals are quite nice.
The growlingscreaming, if you can call it that, are top notch and aren't annoying like Children of Bodom's... the clean vocals also keep the songs interesting (and i normally don't like folk metal either!).
Surprisingly good album.

I think that this is more melo-death/black than it is power metal.

Way more. Actually, the only thing that sounds even remotely power-metally is the tone of the guitars sometimes. Even the keys sound more like symphonic metal than power.

Really? this grew on me quite a bit. Sounded a lot more fluid/coherent after a dozen plus listens.

This never grew off me and I don't think it will. And when the hell is Time coming out. I'm getting sick of waiting.

Ras is right, songwriting on this is totally meh, I've never understood why people go as nuts for this as they do.This Message Edited On 01.05.09

Because it's epic or something, with swords and dragons and shit.

I haven't listened to this in over a year. I guess I'll listen to it now to see if I still like it.

I love swords and dragons, but this is the "gay" kind of epic. Dude shreds no doubt, but the only band of this ilk I can listen to close to sparingly is Ensiferum. DeathB ringer From the Sky is a mother fucking slayer of a track. Like Val Kilmer in Willow. That good. This Message Edited On 01.05.09

This sounds pretty much the same as Ensiferum.

Yeah. And that this guy was in Ensiferum, it makes no sense that I wouldn't enjoy slaying forest dwellers to this. Maybe I will spend 17 bucks on this next time I return. I need to reinforce my gay folk/power metal. Of course, Skyclad rules all.
