Already jammed this morning, was pretty good.

Half-formed opinion on first few listens: Feels less diverse and exciting than last album (though, tbf, Phoenix maybe my favourite in the discog). There's nothing as immediately ass-kicking as Quietest Friend or Black Canyon. BUT: album is really kinda effortlessly cool and very consistent in its tone? Feel like it could be a huge grower.

Similar feelings for me after 2 spins (including Phoenix being maybe my favorite).

yeah, a little more samey than Phoenix — but I love this sepia-tone nostalgia binge narrative he’s been going for across these two records

after loving Phoenix a few years back as my intro to Bazan I'd told myself I'd jam his earlier stuff before the eventual follow-up dropped and then I simply didn't until now

my loss, clearly. this was phenomenal. excited to keep digging
