My favourite album of all time possibly. Inspired me from a younger age to play bass and guitar.

I love every track on it. The people that don't like it probably just don't like the mix of funk, rock & punk. I love all chilis albums though but this is my fav

People who have only the album a few times probably shouldn't rate it 'cus the first few times you hear it... its a bit over powering but after a while you relise the genious of each part in each song

Great album, deffinatley among my top 10. The songs I could have lied, Give it away and Under the bridge make the CD into something great.

what the.... the ballads? the softer songs do have a vital part of the album but them doses of funk just make it completely

It might just be me. But that comment makes little to no sense^.

F'ing epic!
I love could of lied! I think it's by far the most emotive tune the peppers have made.

I'm starting to agree with all the high ratings now, as my urge for funkiness seems to have boosted up recently, specifically "My Lovely Man".

If i have to hear Under the Bridge one more time i will surely hang myself
ok, maybe a little drastic, but its my least favorite song on the album and very VERY over-played

It is over-played, but not without good reason. The guitar playing on that song is very tasteful. Maybe even genius.

The Ashtray Girl wrote some very good ones back in the days of the old forum. This is a very good one. Still probably their best work too...I like their recent stuff (especially By The Way), but I don't think that they'll ever beat this in terms of making a consistently excellent album.

I'm more of a fan of their later stuff, really. All the poppy shit that everyone always complains about.

I love this album. Flea's work here is awesome. I love playing Naked In the Rain on bass. Hell, i like playing all these songs here. Fantastic review, too.
