well i'm not sure if you were serious or not...

there are so many people who think some of the dumbest music played is "epic"

surely my rating of 2.5 would suggest that i a) dont find this epic and b) wasnt being serious about the band being awesome.

It's like kicking in someone's teeth till there's none left, then kicking them a bit more. Will not pick up this album, perish the thought of even touching it. Goodbye To The Gallows, goodbye to quality. Save a few tracks. Chicago's Finest and False Love in Real Life. This Message Edited On 11.03.08

this bands first song on their first album sampled an old coalesce loop. what nonsense. otherwise a pretty fun listen. emmure is hardcore's boy band and as someone said on lambgoat "emmure is to hardcore as space jam is to basketball"This Message Edited On 11.12.08

As sad as it is for me to admit this...I like this album. I dislike the fact that it has no progression. I despise the fact that they manage to create an album with non-stop breakdowns for the entirety of the album. However, with that said, I for some unexplainable reason find it catchy. I'm very displeased with myself.

I agree this is by far their worst album. With tracks 2,3,8,10 all being complete garbage. The only tracks enjoyable all the way through are Chicagos Finest(best track on the album IMO)Tales From The Burg and Dry Ice.The rest of the tracks just have 1 or 2 interesting parts. It sad this band actually showed promise with their EP,1st full length was decent, this is them simply saying "hey lets make money!"

Idk about the money part. I'm sure you've seen hardcore kids at shows...I mean what do you think music would sound like if they learned how to play instruments with at least a little bit of talent...if they even have that much.

What the usual metal crowd has yet to notice about hardcore/metalcore/deathcore, is that breakdowns have become a characteristic of that genre. It's part of the music, not a crutch. Most people don't really understand this album, or this type of music for that matter. Half the breakdowns in this albums get so heavy that they resemble drone metal. It's strange that so many people find it to be just rehashed ideas, because I actually found it to be a breath of fresh air.
