that is a VERY dumb comment. its out of place and awkward, its definitely not the worst song ever recorded. Touche's lyrics are great. Its weird they kinda get blasted on this site often but everywhere else their considered one of the best in the genre. I love most of the lyrics on Parting the Sea.

Wildlife was boring if you have a short attention span. Simple.

condolences is one of the best songs in their discography. lmao

New Defeater is pretty good but underwhelming compared to their old stuff, new touche is lovely, La Dispute is an incredible band but I have not sat down and listened to Wildlife as a whole yet

Uh, or the music just sucked ass, the vocals were horrible, and the lyrics tried WAY too hard
I don't get why people in the Wildlife thread couldn't understand this

@RosaParks Jordan is a brilliant lyricist.....i dont understand what you mean by "trying to hard". wtf does that even mean
@Xeno yeah Amends, ~, Face Ghost, Sesame, Art Official, Home Away from Home are all brilliant songs
|
| |
what does attention span even have to do with something being boring?
home away from here is actually like top 10 songs this year and there were a few other stand-outs but on the whole their previous outings were way more consistent and less corny. jordan is a very good vocalist and lyricist, wildlife is a solid 3. i far preferred the way they constructed their songs on somewhere...

Vocally it was Jordan's best performance to date, the gripping storytelling was leagues better than SatB's solid-but-redundant Livejournal poetry, and musically it was on par with the music on SatB, except on Wildlife, the musicians felt in-sync with Jordan. On SatB it felt like the music and the vocals were competing for your attention, whereas on Wildlife they were completely in tune with eachother.
How does it feel being so wrong, Rosa? Does it hurt?

@fuckthatnoise
You're criticism of how the instrumentals 'compete' with the vocals on SatB are absolutely wrong in every way, thats calling a band out for having more than one interesting thing going on at once, the guitar work is 10000x better than on the few songs from Wildlife Ive heard.
