Agreed, are the recent SH any good?
^^
No. Not even a little bit.
Everything past 3 is awful.

Damn that's sad, still gotta finish 2 and 3 on hardest difficulty (fuck those puzzles on hard are impossible)
|
| |
2 was the best soundtrack imo, although the first 1 had a really dark one, love that stuff.
the puzzles on RE3 arent anything special tbh, and the ammo, just save the shotty rounds for the second half of the game and youre all set

I know every track to re4 but can't name a single song from this and I played all 3 campaigns. I hope shinji mikami's new game lives up to the hype he's giving it. (Return of survival horror, spiritual successor to re4)

Was talking about the SH hard difficulty, like on the third I start with 6 dogs in every damn corridor and even with the lightsaber all I can do is run, then the first puzzle comes mixing poetry, shakespear and numbers and I'm like "fuck is this? on medium the code was written on the books..."

"I hope shinji mikami's new game lives up to the hype he's giving it. (Return of survival horror, spiritual successor to re4)"
Sounds cool, gonna check out
|

Sh2 had some ridiculous puzzles when played on extra but that poetry puzzle takes first place seeing as you need knowledge from something outside the game iirc.
|
| |
Can't even imagine how hard the tarot card puzzle'll get...
|
| |
I love Silent Hill 2 and 3 was pretty decent as well, but I still would like to play the first one.
I love RE 4, and 5 is good for what it is, but I have heard pretty terrible things about 6. I never could get into the pre RE 4 games either; those tank controls and that camera just ruin it for me.
|
| |
ahh sorry bout that, i remember that 2 used to fuck up my brain big time.
great game anyway
|
| |
So Mikami is doing "The Evil Within" with Bethesda... the problem is that modern big game companies can't make survival horrors anymore imo, the reason is that they have a public to consider and so rarely propose a game hard enough to be called a survival...
|
| |
Yeah SH2 was a mind bender but the biggest puzzle had to be the actual town to me, "where am I supposed to go?" was just the constant ultimate question.
|
| |
We'll see how it turns out in 2014 I suppose. Honestly, I haven't seen a true survival horror game. I've seen survival or horror games but not survival horror.
|
| |
cnt wait for evil within dudes idtech5
|
| |
Honestly best horror games I've seen these past years were Indie games, Condemned 2 could have almost applied for "trve survival horror" but didn't, shame...
|
| |
yea, the first part of SH1 is also a 'where the fuck i go' kinda game
im lucky i found those 3 keys without help
|
| |
I feel like the Evil Within will refrain from arming you with weapons, will have puzzles that will be moderately more difficult than puzzles than in most big production games and some disturbing environments, but not more than that.
|
| |
Condemned 2 was good but lost itself along the way. Condemned 1 was better. You never felt too powerful and always had to be on your toes. The forensics stuff wasn't dropped halfway through for more gunplay and the final boss wasn't retarded.
|
| |
I don't think evil within will live up to its promises (when do games in general do nowadays anyway?) but I still think it will be a
solid game at its worst. I'd respect the guy more if he just said its going to have action bits instead of trying to persuade us it'll
be true survival horror. there's nothing wrong with over the top action in games if its done right. All the RE's end with a rocket
launcher ffs.
