Well it's definitely worth your time. I remember you saying that you didn't like Thornography so if that's the case you should still love Godspeed. Definitely more of a return to form for them.

I liked a few tracks, but i couldn't stand the ballady type songs, those just annoyed the fuck out of me. Under Huntress Moon was definitely my favorite from that album.

Well you're in luck because that's pretty much how Godspeed sounds. My favorite from Thornography was definitely I Am the Thorn with Tonight in Flames and Cemetery and Sundown not too far behind.

Speaking of female black metal vocalists makes me wanna listen to Addaura so badly

I've only listened to Bathory Aria off of this and it is actually a pretty epic track. Can't stand Godspeed, though Death of Love and Tragic Kingdom slay. Midian is my favorite Cradle album. Just really like vocals on it. So anyone think the new album is going to be any good?

I'm late as hell on this, but you should definitely listen to the whole thing if you've heard Bathory Aria. Can't compare the new stuff to this at all so saying you think Godspeed is bad is pretty irrelevant.

I like most of CoF's discography, but I prefer their earlier stuff. They started to go downhill at Damnation and a Day. I really like a lot of the songs off of the first album but the mix brings it down a notch. Dusk and Her Embrace, Cruelty and the Beast, and Midian are their best albums.
Dusk and Her Embrace has a loud bass in it, which I'm not crazy about - I prefer loud drums. The mix is good on Cruelty and the Beast, but the mastering could have been done a tad better. Midian definitely has more distortion in it.
I think Cruelty is their best album. It doesn't have a loud bass like Dusk, it doesn't have distortion like Midian, and I think Dani's vocals are at their best. The album sounds great and every song on it is good - a consistent album. Plus, the bonus CD has Hallowed Be Thy Name which I think is an awesome cover. If I could only have one album of theirs it would be this one.

If there's one thing cradle of filth are good at,its making concept albums. Apart from the very unnecessary 'Venus in Fear', the res of the songs here make it my favourite COF album ever.

These guys weren't always a joke. This album got them closer to being one just due to the weak production and a few excessive sections, but Dusk, Vempire and their debut were pretty damn cool.... also, this and Midian aren't bad either.
