Well does apple music have different genre tags for each release from an artist or do they just have general tags for each artist that are then applied to all of their releases?

Because if they just have Boris in general tagged as metal its a safe enough bet all things considered

good question Pots let me check.

It's different for each album. Heavy Rocks (2011) is rock and Smile is alternative.

interesting

agree with space that this showcases more than enough stoner / sludge to warrant the blanket term "metal"

Flood is best Boris. Then Feedbacker. Boris stretches their legs like nobody’s business

For me this is the most enjoyable listen of Boris' albums, like if I just wanna chill and listen to some Boris this is what Ill put on. Don't always have 50 uninterrupted minutes to listen attentively to Feedbacker or Flood

But they have so many other albums to put on and rock out to that aren't epics like Feedbacker or Flood. Not that this isn't a fantastic album or anything.

True, lol I guess I could have phrased what i said better. All I was saying is this is my favourite of their more stoner rock/ sludgy-rock albums. I also love their other stuff like Heavy Rocks, Pink, Noise, etc, but this one just hits differently. I've listened to nearly every Boris album, but theres just something about their early period that's so flawless

I love how the t/t doesn't have a single original riff but still bangs harder than armageddon. What a class jam

I think a lot of the appeal of certain sludgey stoner metal is the "how can we make bog standard pentatonic riffs the most visceral musical experience ever" attitude. t/t is one of the all time great metal bangers and yeah, not a single original idea in the thing, just a love for rock and roll in the purest sense
