"Going to see them April 26 in St. Petersburg, splurged on the meet and greet, and sitting second row dead center. Not too many chances left for that"

Yeee boi. I'm thinking of getting tickets. New album will be fun live

Haha sonic will be shouting "Petrucci your tone sounds like QUEEF! Bring back the Awake tone!!"

Me neither, but I'll be looking for it (Glass Moon) now!

And the live show is completely dependent on LaBrie's performance. Looks like he lost some weight though so maybe he gives a fuck again.

Labrie doesn't really over exert himself on this album, so he should be able to do a decent job live. Enjoying a Labrie performance after quite a while

LaBrie has some less than adequate performances herd, namely S2N and the bonus track, but yeah it's the sharpest he's sounded in years.

I disagree with the review regarding Progressive metal.

It's a genre, a style of music. This doesn't mean bands who play this style need to reinvent the wheel every time.

That being said, you can't deny Astonishing is a pretty unique album, regardless of your opinion of it.

I had this at a 4 but I just had to up my rating. As a long time fan, there was so much to be enjoyed on this and it hits me in all the right places.

To me there's a difference between "prog" and "progressive" if that makes sense

"Prog" being the genre, "progressive" being a mentality

The reviewer stated emphatically why he doesn’t like the album and backed it up. Not the best writing but he gets a pos from me none the less.
