"I know the progression is happening because I'm well past the 'mind blown by every 10th album i listen to' stage lol. starting to get a better grasp of what it is I'm looking for" - it ain't so bleak :] I do miss those days of everything being woah and exciting but I'm a solid maybe 8 or 9 years in now and I'm still finding new stuff that's interesting. There's a shitload of diversity in music. Electronic by itself is a vast hole I'm only just starting to wiggle my way into.

"check some non guitar music"
I'm not quite there yet but when the time comes I'll call upon the sputlords. I've heard enough from users with good takes that there's a lot to find in electronic and such to give it a good effort to find it myself. Jimmyofthe[Weeb] has already given me some starting material

@park that's real pretty, I can get behind that
And hell yeah, I love that kind of techno, but it's something which sucks on your own and you need a sweaty, dark warehouse to properly enjoy.
@ledd think the issue for people trying to get into electronic music is you're often given the 'classics' like selected ambient works and Boards of Canada but that's probably so far away from what you normally listen to, it won't click. You're better off dipping your toes into stuff that's most similar to what you like already, like progressive house or IDM like Jon Hopkins or something

Slap on Born Slippy at a high volume :] Slaps hard and it's got a pretty distinct form so it's a nice one to break into.

underworld [2]

Born Slippy [3]. Tried mixing it into Charli XCX's Visions once cos I thought I could get a sick drop but it was a total failure

if it's any consolation park, the unconventional, obscure, unappealing shit gets boring eventually too at which point you'll circle back to normal shit lol

Fuck it, props for trying. The most I've ever achieved is making Carly Rae Jepsen sound kinda funny so you're definitely the ideas dude round here.
