Liquid Jesus is such an infectiously guilty pleasure and that irony is not lost on me
the opening run in particular is way more ‘good times enjoyable’ than it has any right to be. I’m not sure about Lipstick, but otherwise it’s a strong first half

Yeah this slaps. A few of the more synth-heavy tracks aren’t my faves and there’s a fairly clear hierarchy (top heavy-ish for sure), but otherwise great

Lipstick With No Lips feels like a sleeper pick...I adore the tempo changes on that track that contrast the overall hazy, drunken feeling of it.

I would say a lot of this works in spite of the fact it kinda shouldn't because the vocals are absolutely top notch. The guy really sells it and I love the way he delivers some of these lines

I love the vocals even though sometimes he reminds me of Shaggy from ICP, especially during the first half of Mob Dad. This album is such a great trip from start to finish

For those who love this album you should definitely check out the new album by Mamaleek. It carries the same nonchalant violence and grim delivery with a little whimsy to back it all up. Enjoy

I still love a lot of the content here but am approaching it like a collection of singles where I just cherry pick, because I'll be damned if I'm getting through all of this very often. A rather unusual occurrence for me as a full album kinda guy. The debut is a better 'album' whereas this has stronger individual cuts. It's still top heavy, for me

Bumped this to a 4 but they should have stripped three or four songs from the second half, gets too much of a good thing by the end.
Feel the closer would have more impact/power if the listener didn't have to wait so long.

I am surprised to hear several people talk about the length of the record when it is only an hour of material. This doesn't seem unusual for an album in this style of music to me but I can see the complaint that its top heavy a bit. I gave this a spin again at work yesterday and on the way home and man there is some good stuff here
