New Gatecreeper is sounding a lot more accessible than their previous stuff. I've dug their sound since their early demo, but if they want to write catchier tunes I'm all here for it. Creeping Death is a bit meh, they need more sauce.

Just looked at the new setlist for this tour. Fucking lame. Basically the same as last tour minus a couple cool older songs. At least there's bullet ride.
Also, please move on from take this life and cloud connected. It's been 20 years and they have better songs on those albums for fucks sake. They play that shit every tour like it's their number one and two songs, but if I'm judging by spotify, only cloud connected just cracks their top 5 at the 5 spot

Yeah I'm pretty sure they are like their biggest hits after Only for the Weak. It's like their Master of Puppets and For whom the bell tolls I guess. None of them are even close to as good as those songs tho funnily enough

Creeping Death was pretty cool, always wanted to see em but kinda sad in this context. they started playing and all the In Flames kids immediately bolted for the back. agree with Dungeon that they need some sauce.
Gatecreeper was cool but wasnt as enjoyable as the last time I'd seen em. people were moshing at least. can see them being included on this tour to satiate the people wanting older songs played
In Flames was.....idek. I got tix cuz a friend of mine digs em and wanted to go. woulda skipped otherwise. set was awful but Food for the Gods ripped. seen em play Bullet Ride already but still went brazy in the pit for it. left early. just not the same when 3/5 of the band is new I guess. hard agree with Eak about ditching Take this Life and Cloud Connected. the shrooms my friend gave me kicked in a few songs into their set and I was just standing there thinking "why tf am I here" lol

I would have a complete freakout if I did. It would be waaaaaaaay too intense to be around that many strangers in that circumstance. Also think metal in itself would be way too intense as well. But if you can handle it it's probably a really cool experience

it wasnt a hero's dose or anything, just a little to enhance the experience. unless they do an explicit old school set in the future, I think my time paying to see N'Flaymz is over lol

btw I don't think it's age that's dulling Anders' ability to sing, keep in mind that Bjorn from Soilwork is getting older too and he sings higher than ever now
|

Bjorn actually works on his vocals tho
