I've only listened to this three times since I downloaded it.

Once when it first came out.

Second time to back up the rating I'd given it.

The third time, today, to recognize how incredibly boring this album is.

I've lowered my rating.

This album wouldn't be so horrible if it came from any other band.
But it came from Atreyu... after really good albums like suicide notes and butterfly kisses, how can you listen to this and not get mad? they've gone to shit.

Wow, i think its funny that people are arguing over whether the album is horrible or just below average. Piss off people. If you have to argue about it is obviously not that good.

There are only two underrated albums on Sputnik as far as i am concerned, Led Zeppelin I and Nevermind.

Fucking love the album.. You know i think when you've been screaming 3 records straight, you kinda want to try something new.. Atreyu screams on this album, just not as much as before.. Just let them do what they fucking want to do.. Lead Sails Paper Anchor kicks ass.. One of the best albums in metal.. Make a better album yourself people..

Best albums in metal???

not even close

i doubt you can even call this metal

its closer to "sell out"

just like avenged sevenfold

goddam, this sucks, by far my two favorite bands ever, and they both end up getting on a fancy label, claiming that it wont influence them, and yet they come out with two of the biggest mainstream albums of the year...yeah, atreyu and avenged are both dead to me until they revert to their old style

People should really learn the difference between an opinion and a declaration. Saying that you don't like Atreyu or even that you think their music sucks is an opinion.

Making blanket statements like they're bad musicians just make you look like an ass. If you ever sat down and looked at the tabs you'd realize your mistake. But then again, I doubt 70% of the contributors to this site can read music, let alone tablature. Oh well...

And you should really learn what the term country signifies, just because you have acoustic guitar doesn't make it country. The song is trying more for spaghetti western, and most of the licks/rhythm are Italian/Spanish influenced. Western is in no way the same as country, btw

This is a 14 beer problem, and the liquor store is closed. Sigh...

Somebody get me a branding iron, a live ferret, and a Hannah Montana live recording. I need to put the hurtin' on somebody.

This album isn't bad if what they were trying to do was create a good "pop hard-rock" album (if there is such a thing), but overall, it was boring and overall not as engaging as their other releases. I would give this album a 2/5 because it was a noble attempt at doing something different, but ultimately, fell short, and now they join the ranks of Avenged Sevenfold of having passed their glory days.

P.S....did anyone notice the song Lead Sail (And A Paper Anchor) sounds just like "I Won't See You Tonight Pt. 1" off of Avenged Sevenfolds album Waking The Fallen (Which I think is a pretty good record)?
