"it's just that when bands take it to the extreme like here and try to be Jeff Mangum or something it really bothers me."

Your basis on how contrived the album was is the same complaint Micheal had with the entire concept of Jane Doe and the lyrics on ATRU.

I agree that this is a really stupid way to review an album. Something might be cliche and overstated throughout pop culture, but I think it is stupid to say that the emotions of the vocalist are faux unless you know them personally because everybody expresses themself differently.

For instance. We think that Justin Bieber is too young to know true love, but who could really say whether he really loves that girl or not other than him? I'm not sure if you understand what I'm getting at, but I feel like I've explained myself enough to warrent my dislike for the review.

a. yes, I said the guy wants to be Mangum, I was talking about Mangum the persona not NMH the music... big difference, sorry if that's not clear

b. I really don't see any big similarities between my argument and MJ's Jane Doe one other than the fact that we take a large, overarching theme that we feel ruins the music kinda... and I can't speak for him but I'm pretty sure the whole "contrived," "trying to be something it's not" argument really isn't present at all in his review... even if it was so what?

c. let's stick to my review and not make generalizations based on things people have said in other reviews... I never once mentioned "pop culture" or whatever

d. "I agree..." with who???

e. I have no opinion on Beiber, can we stick to this band please?

yeah and MJ's review was based mostly (I think) on lyrics where here, I hardly mention the lyrics... I think the comparison you're trying to make is really stretching it, and I don't know where you're going with it.

I've always found Chan to be the most Bro-like of the staff members. Everyone else is a cock helmet.

idk... I wrote a 2 review for an album that had an avg. rating of 4.2. Obviously I kinda want to argue my point.

There's always a good reason for starting shit and that's because it's either a) Fun or b) Consumes time.

Usually people say they hate things that kill time, but frankly I see sputnik as a site where people can have an excuse to cut out a part of their day where they would normally be doing something productive.

And to talk about music.
