Solid review, I disagree for the most part the CD has it's moments and the stylistic changes are welcome. However the songs structures, the downgrade in breakdowns, and the only sporatic melodic presence leave the record missing the key components that would have made it brilliant. No question that it is a fun album though and will hopefully grow on me.

They've always been extremely boring.

I hate the production style too, sounds so fucking sterile.

I mean, I can see justification for giving Rareform a 4, sure I'll allow it. It has some really memorable moments. But not one sound-off is clear, even this review sucks ass at saying exactly why this is good music. Horrible songwriting, horrible cliches, horrible soloing for the most part.

a couple sweet riffs but it's missing the technical prowess and writing skill that made Rareform such a stand out album...they rely way too much on the chugging polyrythmic breakdowns. You think a song is going to be awesome...it gets awesome then it falls into the same swirling pit of chugging on every track. There's 3 parts to their songs on this album; a: Clean plucking, b: Chugging poly rhythm, c: gay cliche melodic part. It sucks to see a band that was doing new and unique stuff take a step backwards.

Your troubles will cease, Encased in Ice and Bread crumbs and white stones are pretty awesome. Everything else bores the shit out of me.
