I agree that the majority of the tracks are predictable, but that isn't a problem for me. Neither is it a problem that the story isn't really complicated. I think the story is just told so well from the each instrument that it makes up for that, even the acoustic tracks are that much more enjoyable because you know the characters (most of them) from 2 albums now.

The first acoustic track is garbage but that's my only complaint. The abrupt ending to White Oak Doors is ridiculous.

...I actually kinda like the acoustic songs more than the hardcore tracks. I wish they were split evenly, though. I'd love to hear them do an entire acoustic record.

Personally I kinda like it, or well at least the thought, should have ended with some faint sounds of trains passing or something other than just silence.
You hear the train sounds near the end of the song, right before it cuts out...since the character who we're seeing the song through is dead, it really wouldn't make any sense whatsoever to hav train sounds after he dies...
and to Aids, it's a fact, your username is Aids...really not the person to be questioning intelligence...see every user-hyped album and see how many staff members give it way less than the users do, bc they're so much leeter

While I agree with some points, I think the risk is rating it with a partiality toward reception, instead of merit. Compared to most current releases, as well as other newer albums in this genre, this clearly deserves higher than a 3.5. Not to mention the band is putting forth an artistic effort in regards to theme that most bands could give a shit about, and I think that's worth something, even if you think it's banal.

I didn't know the last four songs were on a 2nd disc. Hmm.

"this time ambition seems to have gotten the best of them", and there you go. This concept of a broken family has been done to death, so pick a new topic or just make a "concept-less" album.
Acoustic side was a nice joke.
