I appreaciate the input, Cynical and Ec. I forgot to look this up when I got home but that description peaks my interest quite a bit. The review led me to believe it was something with a bit of variety and I fucking love Devin Townsend so if it incorporates anything of his with some djent stuff. Shit, I'm down. Haven't listened to many "djent" bands besides Periphery but I like them a lot. I just like heavy riffs so seems like it will be good.

And I forgot that about the people that like to troll on here.
Yea from what I've heard, the songs on his first two albums are a lot heavier than this album, but I
felt that the songs on this album is a lot more coherent.

Not a fan of any of the vocals in this but the instrumentals are great.

Really not a fan of the vocals at all, but the instrumental climaxes are very satisfying.

Incredible album. You can hear that with each new release his creativity expands, and he recycles some melodies that he used in previous songs which is a great thing. Many great composers borrow from themselves as well as others all of the time. You can hear that the opening to Where is now is the same as a part in Bilo part 4 but in a different key.

Love this guy. This EP in particular is the most focused piece of music I've heard in forever. Each song goes to the extreme to get across whatever feeling/idea is central.

I tried 2.0 and while it was solid, this is wayy more advanced/interesting. 2.0 is some stone age shit in comparison. I do think the album tapers off quite a bit after the first half, but I'll keep listening and see if some of those songs grow on me more.
Where is Now has some sick parts, all the vox on that are so good. The guy that comes in @ around the 5:00 min sounds a ton like ol' boy from mars volta, not sure if it's him though.
Smile is also ridiculous, esp. those vox.
Nostalgia is great but I don't agree w/ everyone that it's the high point of the album.

I get so upset with smile, it could've been song of the year easy.....

I like it a lot but then this chicks voice :////

I don't get the hate (at all!) for the chick's vox in Smile. She has insaaane vocal control - some of the best I've ever heard - and is pretty dynamic too.

Seriously. Smile IS the song of the year as far as Im concerned and a large reason why is because of the vocals.
