Thanks, I'll check them out sometime.
Tbh, this doesn't stick with me for too long, unlike LTS or DEG, so I need more stuffs to be able to listen to this further.

LTS and DEG you can hooked from the first album and jam non stop, this is a slow burn of a band where you get increasingly obsessed with them as you go through discography and become more of fan. Eventually they have so much quality in their full albums and live shows you can jam them endlessly because there's so much variety and quality on offer.

Speed is such a fantastic opener

Hell yeah, opens it perfectly. Probably one of my favourite ever openers.

The perfect opener, nothing to me is more iconic in their discography then the opening roar of the crowd and the snare roll coming in.

The energy in it is palpable.

Before I forget, fuck those ones that 2'ed and 3'ed this.

Haha, one of them has possibly the weirdest Buck Tick taste I've ever seen. The other probably listened to it once and never again, which for this album is a terrible idea.

It isn't all that weird. SSL is a solid album, I can see how someone can 5 it, and all my approval for 4.5'ing Six/Nine, COSMOS and ONE LIFE, ONE DEATH. I can also see how someone who prefers his music on the strange side won't care much about the more pop-ish, if impeccable, songwriting on Kurutta. There was a certain amount of hype around Kurutta and Juusankai here that swayed the ratings, and anyway sput users are a self-selected group that tends to value similar things in music. You'll find in the greater fandom there are all kinds of opinions on B-T's best. For example, I remember Arui wa Anarchy was received more warmly than Yume Miru Uchuu.

"For example, I remember Arui wa Anarchy was received more warmly than Yume Miru Uchuu."
Wow really? Where?
|
| |
At the time I was hanging around last.fm's B-T shoutbox and otherwise having private convos with fans, so there. Currently on the second page of comments: last.fm/music/BUCK-TICK/+shoutbox?page=2
I count four people saying they like Arui better than Yume. Of course it could be the excitement of a new album, but reading back I remember a more mixed reaction to Yume.

Well I'm glad that sentiment has changed, wonder how many of them watched Tour Arui.

"Buck-tick never had interesting guitar solo's"
What the actual fuck?
|
| |
I hope many, but then you know I think everyone should watch B-T lives. And hahah, I know the guy's taste, by "interesting" I think he means "complex". Which is true, they never did. Doesn't mean Imai isn't a freaking guitar genius.

Exactly, he could do barely anything and be brilliance (main example being the Limbo performance at Tour Arui).

You can 5 SSL at will, it's a damn great abum, but either you give a ~≥4 rating to Kurutta or you are wrong my friend. LOL.

If SSL is 5/5 then Sweet Strange breaks the scales.
