I enjoyed both a lot but probably never will as much as y'all do cos I don't have the attachment from when I was younger

amazing review sowing, loved the personal touch. didn't care for the first 3 songs they released for this but review has definitely convinced me to give this a shot and hopefully it will grow on me
EDIT: just heard crash the gates and i thought it was a lot better than the other tracks they've released so far

Crash the gates is probably the best song out of the ones theyve shown so far but it still isn't anything great, idk not sure if i should be hyped for this

So I've been holding out for them to try something different. Lights and Sounds is actually my favourite
from them and I couldn't get into the previous two records. This might be my time to jump back on board?
Also Southern Air sucked. I can't for the life of me understand the hype this site gave it.

Thanks Atari!
And concerning Southern Air, I think it's one of their best. However, I also have a ridiculous personal connection to it.
I don't think I'll end up connecting as much to Lift A Sail, but I love the direction they're going in because I feel like it puts them in a position to succeed again after exhausting the whole summer beach punk - pop avenue

It's easy to dislike this if you base it solely on how similar it is to their past works. I had to listen to the whole album 3 times before I even considered it to be above average. I think long time fans will have to go through an adjustment period with this, and those who write it off immediately will just always hate it.

It's not as good as Southern Air, and it's also very different. It just takes some getting used to.

"From the 3 singles it's awful"
I too enjoy rating albums based on less than 25% of their content

Haha. Yeah I don't get why people rush to have an opinion.
|
| |
I mean rating albums even off one listen seems a bit hasty for me, but that is just ridiculous

the band just posted this review on their facebook page
|

who the fuck are these people on their facebook saying "why have you guys changed??????" or even "you guys suck for changing!!!!!!!"

I think they lost the majority of their originality with this new record. They sound like just about any other pop-punk band now a days in my opinion. Couldn't get into it... I used to really like these guys because they were so original with the violin and everything. Seems as though they don't use it near as often as they did in the past. "One For The Kids" was their best written album to me.
