Harmony and Nothing Lasts Forever are the best on the second half by far.

I don't care is probably best of second half but Circulation is also a beast. the record doesn't come with Digital Age so I don't really count it.

Wasn't to hot on Currents back on the day, but decided to check this out nonetheless.

"Narrow Mouth" is really really good. Vocalist has improved a lot.

How much the closer sounds like Anberlin is a testament to how far they’ve come.

New Jersey rockers The Early November appear to have found their natural sound on 4th LP 'Imbue'. Continuing to evolve since their career-defining hiatus, the quintet play accessible power-pop with enough energy & diversity to stand out from the pack. Not only have the vocals of Arthur 'Ace' Enders improved, but his production here is also notable, especially when it comes to highlighting some fantastic guitar tones. The album begins well, but is ultimately an extremely consistent & cohesive record, even if it could do with a home run hit. Recommended Tracks: Narrow Mouth, Nothing Lasts Forever, Magnolia & The Negatives.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about 'Nothing Lasts Forever'. 'Digital Age' was technically a bonus track.

Oh that's fair enough, but I still don't really see why that's a measure of their progress? Isn't their increasingly varied songwriting, Ace's upward trajectory as a vocalist and lyricist, and extremely strong comeback more indicators of that than the fact that they made a song that sounds like Anberlin?

That's kinda my point though. I don't think they were in Anberlin's league earlier in their career. The improvement in songwriting & vocals on this album puts them in all the ballpark.

I dunno why you feel the need to compare them though, they occupy different niches

Unsure they do, since they're both broadly alt-rock.

The other reason is simply because the closer sounds like an Anberlin song.

I mean I get what you're saying here I just think it was a bizarre thing to single out from this record. I don't mean to be difficult though

No sweat at all. Just a throwaway line more than anything else... & wondering if anyone else noticed the similarity.

Jotting down a more detailed blurb now, since a 3.8 will probably mean it sneaks into my year-end top 40.

Can see some similarity in Nothing Lasts for sure, otherwise not particularly
