maybe. I imagine some of these guys in djent bands and this sort of new prog might be pretty arrogant and boastful about their vast technique and precision and maybe their songwriting too and that’s uncalled for. If you have so much talent and passion, why does everyone just want to know what gear you’re using??

Like I said in a previous comment, while STS has the technical ability, the focus is on creating atmospheric soundscapes with their music, which they excel at. Polyphia has very little songwriting talent, but they've gotten away with it because they have the technical ability and good looks. Otherwise, the band has little else to offer.
