If the new one is a 3.5 for Sowing it'll probably be like a 2 for me.

It falls between a 3 and 3.5 for me. It's a disappointment after this one.

New one was decent on first listen, definitely a step down from this.

On this one he's channeling Bob Dylan, and it sounds great, but on the new one it sounds more like lou Reed. Personally, I don't think Lou is such a great fit for Morby.

I heard some Laughing Len too
I liked both albums a fair bit...though they're generic as hell
Maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on Ryan Adams :D

This one is barely a 3.5. New one was barely a 3 on first listen. The thing that saved this was the arrangements - dude's not much of a singer or songwriter imo - and that's not good when you're purportedly a singer/songwriter. New one doesn't really have much going on in the way of arrangements but it's pleasant enough. It may get bumped down with more listens though.

Haha, Ryan Adams is better at imitating Springsteen than Morby's Reed.

Dude keeps busy.
Was just enjoying the hell out of 'Destroyer' the other day. Might be my favorite song from him now.

This is really really bad. Those who gave it a good review really don't listen to all that much music. Songs are boring and predictable and lack any real authenticity. No matter how you slice it this dude has absolutely no talent

Well Higsas34 when you're musical tastes mature beyond that of a 13 year old tell me what ya think. Til then keep listening to mindless corporate L.A. cockrock

And to top it off this guy is a worse lyricist than Joe Elliot of Def Leppard. And I didn't think that was possible.

'Destroyer' is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard.

new single is a collaboration with Waxahatchee, didn't see that coming

The Songs: Ohia cover? Seems a fairly logical collaboration to me.

That's why I know the cover illustration! It's the Magnolia Electric Co. Owl. Thanks Boney!
