i heard a few songs off this by tyler's recommendation - and yeah its very noise-textured and 99% of squares would find the album unlistenable but... ok? there's so many albums on a calmer level than this record that many people would find unapproachable. it means nothing.

It doesn't mean nothing, what I'm trying to say is that it's not exactly weird that I don't enjoy this and that I gave it a fair try, much fairer than most people would. It's not the same thing as someone giving something like The National a 2, for example, because their music is conventionally enjoyable, whereas this exists in the realm of music that is not conventionally enjoyable; it's built off of very different premises than the vast majority of music out there, more so than most shoegaze or most music that the internet praises.

album is actually pretty close to straight up noise quite a lot actually. best sonic antecedent i can think of '77 Live, though this is more "difficult"
