I enjoyed this more than the last 2 but no songs really wow’d me as much as the window did

this was half decent, but couldn't hear anything that really stood out to me. except maybe the intro in the first song and that one section with the fast synth arpeggios. will give this a few more listens before writing it off as it's Thrice.

This is Thrice's most sonically interesting release since Beggars but sadly also sees Kensrue's lyricism falling even further down the platitudey preacher rabbit hole. Glad the band's got some balls to experiment again - that alone makes this worth a listen and different from all their other post-Beggars albums - but until Kensrue recaptures some nuance as a lyricist, Thrice aren't truly firing on all cylinders.

I don't like it when all the singles are lumped together in one block on an album, and especially at the beginning of an album. For me it always makes it feel uneven.

But, yeah, anyway, this is pretty good but like most are saying here it is par for the course. A tiny bit disappointing but I'll be jamming this over the coming days to see if it's actually a grower. Besides the singles the standouts for me are My Soul and Blood on Blood.

I'm conflicted so far. I actually think the lyrics and Dustin's writing style is improved from To Be Nowhere, but there's just no energy. Ed's bass really does carry most of the songs, but there's just no moments of brilliance that we've become accustomed to with Thrice.

I think this will probably end up as my least favorite album of theirs.

Hold Up a Light sucks. Dustin's vocals are starting to get on my nerves now. Too much of that southern rock affectation or whatever it is that I'm hearing.

Was disappointed with this one, will give it a few more listens but nothing beats TAI vols. III & IV for me.

I enjoyed to be everywhere to a certain extent but this one I'm really not feeling atm

This is the first time I like every single song in a Thrice album.

Lol seriously, I can't believe they still have a following. To each their own but imo these guys have been playing boring rock tunes for several years now. I'm not a fan of Vheissu but at least it had some creativity and decent songwriting too

Okay yeah Hold up a Light's chorus is repetitive, but the lyrics in the verses are well-written, and the song bangs.

I still think they peaked around Artist/Vheissu, this stuff is just such a far cry from that
