Strange Flower is the best, that ending is magnificent
very possibly agreed, tho On Your Worst Day does somethin to me deep inside I can't explain
Also I need to reiterate to my _owbro from another consonant that this review is downright brilliant, one of my favorite pieces from you ever, and that it comes closer to doing this album justice than I ever could have.
lovin the love here (even if it took me like 5 minutes to work out the consonant joke). I'll need to give this time to sit with me to see if it can reach that crazy nostalgia level ESR and YAMS have

Not sure how I feel about this. Certainly pretty but vocal effects are a bit obtuse.

sowing you said pope wasn’t top 5 but it’s one of only four tracks you deem a 5 so there

Lay Here is one of the best songs they've ever done.

Yeah sorry it was my lame way of making a "brother from another mother" joke.
And @anatelier yeah I mean those ratings are whatever I'll probably do a list properly ranking the songs soon but either way it's fringe top 5 and considering how ridiculously amazing that song is, it's a huge feat by Copeland

And Ponton I'd agree normally about the vocal effects because I'm typically not a fan of stuff that comes remotely close to sounding autotuned, but somehow it works here for me. Maybe because it fits so well into the dream/alternate dimension theme. I'm also very curious what you think about Colorless because it sounds like Copeland doing a Manchester Orch/BN/Foxing style thing and I imagine you adoring it.

Pope is one of my favorite tracks of the year so far, and unexpectedly so

Atari have you listened to the whole thing yet? Check Colorless and Strange Flower, they're at least as good as Pope if not better. I'm not giving up on you for this album yet. There's a 4.5 somewhere in the future you just don't know it yet!

I've heard the whole thing twice, but admittedly have mostly just had "Pope" on repeat
can't stand "Lay Here" unfortunately. It's like a bad Backstreet Boys song and singlehandedly kills all the momentum from that stellar opening track

Ouch. Personal attack deflected. Hopefully it will grow...
I'm head over heels for every song here. Best album since Science Fiction in 2017 (not that they're similar albums), and this is already shaping up to be an all-time favorite. I'm such a sucker for romanticism in lyrics and melody, accented by strings/piano, with lyrics that could pass as poetry with somber/depressed undertones. That's pretty much this album to a tee.

I'm probably exaggerating lol. Just felt "Pope" deserved a better follow-up and the vocals are too much for me at times. after jamming again "Strange Flower" is another nice standout. and I love some of the instrumentation in the second half of "Suddenly"
love the passion, Sowing ;)

I have always liked the singers voice in this band but never have found them very appealing musically.
