Such a good album. Carried me through some bad days and now I have connected it with that period. Surprisingly, I still love it and find it brilliant.

I mean I fived that album the closer is amazing on that one but damn idk Beyond The Pale is so good and ties the concept really well together. And like the piano barrage in Inside Out. After that Martius/Nauticus is really good with all that percussion.
Most can claim the title at this point.

Today is PofS day
Any day should be PofS day, tbh
This disc is beyond incredible. This was the first disc I've heard from theirs and the one I'm the most
attached to. The concept touches on so many personal issues it's like he did a fucking script of my life in
Beyond the Pale, damn damn damn damn Daniel

When will they start working on a new album? :/

I've convinced myself they wont release another colossal album like this or TPE again so that way I don't stare at a clock and when it actually does happen I'll be completely shocked

Yeah that's fair. Daniel doesn't seem too keen on prog metal in general at the moment. Plus with Ragnar on board it seems they'll take a more pop approach perhaps.

which kills me... I'm not too fond of that pop approach

But they have Gustav on da bass and that guy is a bonafide metalhead.
I wrote him on his fb page a quite nasty comment on his last song, 'Pappa', that he did for Melodifestivalen here. He arrived last (Daniel) and I asked him "where does he think he can go with songs like that", to which he replied "well, I was expecting this feedback" and he then added "keep calm, we are writing a new PoS disc in the style of our old discs"
I personally think the 70s part of the discography is not rubbish and RSII is actually pretty good, and Falling Home has some nice rendition but it's time he moves on

Damn Lunatic, you really weren't happy with that song were you? Haha. He needed to let that out of his system I guess. The thing is a guy like Daniel must have so many musical ideas in his head that he wants to let out, that I don't know if composing in old POS fashion will turn out to be good unless he actually feels like composing that way. If its forced it won't sound good.

I agree, but I think he'd benefit from releasing the more personal and explorative songs under a solo name, and perhaps revive PoS if they truly feel a desire to go back to that sound

please look at him singing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b9MLe5CYj4
he looks so out of place. Yeah I agree with you anyway. Hope he feels like doing it, rather than the opposite

The song sounds like it could have been on Falling home, not bad. But his performance is uncharacteristically average.

He underwent some serious trouble with his illness. He already was a troubled mind and I don't believe his recent experience helped him. He will compose songs that he needs to compose, he always did that. After Scarsick he could have done what fans wanted and go with a proggy style, but instead he chose to do RS ptI & II (I love the first, I like the second). If he's on a process of writing a prog album, PROBABLY he wants to.
