"Lol @ calling Idles liberal"

Sorry, I should have said left/Labour with Liberal tendencies if that better suits you.

Either way, if they're going to try and be political at least try and do it in an intelligent way rather than "Right is bad. Derp!" and doing it over... and over... and over...

This is more straight ahead classic punk sounding than the previous two noisy rocky records.

I LIKE THAT.

Personally I found an urgency in their debut that's be lacking since. Joy sort of dodged it by replacing it with more thought-provoking sentiments but...I didn't give a fuck about any singles. I take it from this I'm not missing much, that and someone on Facebook gave this a post review calling it 100/100 with a serious write up? Yeah...if someone wants to rant on a post on Facebook of all places, this album is not looking too good in the grand scheme hey!

I feel like I'm in the minority who thinks Joy really fumbles in the last third, just felt the record has quite some filler, whereas Brutalism is very strong throughout and this record also maintains that consistency.

Also find that Brutalism the least cheesy of the three. At first, the lyrics on Joy didn't bother me too much but it has become grating a bit. This record is as good as (if not stronger) than Joy, however they will need to shake things up going forward.

Album is a solid 4, it’s fun, goes hard and is straight to the point. Love it.

Are we going to have people whining about the lyrics again like every single idles thread ever

Fun album. Doesn't take itself seriously. Into that

@JS19

I've never had a problem with Joe's lyrics until now though, they're actually kind of bad here

I'm just savoring this relatively sane thread while I can before Gyro inevitably shows up with some galaxy brained take about how rape culture isn't real or something

might become my favorite album of theirs in the long run, stuff like this tends to grow on me more than their more poppy fairs of joy or the more post-punk stuff on brutalism.
