I’ve always loved his solo career records, but now I’m appreciating them all even more and how creative and replayable everything was before this, even if it wasn't always perfect.

Damn. I think the lowest I've rated any of his solo albums was a 4. Hesitant to dive into this, but I must.

Dude should probably stop releasing singles for his albums lol. This was a pretty great listen as a whole experience, shame this has to be so controversial bc muh prog

The most “solo” of his solo albums
Hopefully now he’s got it out his system

Really good review!
Wilson has always displayed pop sensibilities, but yeah, after 2000 his music became increasingly textured and heavier. I was not a big fan of To the Bone, but I haven't really given it a chance though. I saw him live while touring the LP, but it only made me go back to Hand Cannot Erase lol.
This album is an interesting reset IMO, one which may lead to another excellent record in his catalog. I like it, but I am curious to see how much replay value it has.

I don’t mind this. It’s only 42 minutes long so it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome and it’s obviously immaculately produced.
In Absentia and Deadwing will always be my “go to” project of his but this is fun enough for what it is, even if it’s old man boomer music.

Hey Myth, long time no see. Listening to album rn. It's got some interesting moments. But tbh a lot of it isn't particularly memorable.

I also can't help but feel that Steven Wilson takes himself a little too seriously these days. A little too much for his own good I'd say, which is a shame to say about someone whose older work is some of my favorite music ever.

Only people that can enjoy this is people that do not listen to anything else that doesn't come from prog and then they discover you can actually do mellow 4/4 beats with electronic on top

super salty man
I forgot
What it was that I was
There was a time when I had some ambition
Now I just seem to have inhibitions
Forget what I said
'Bout acting on all the plans that I made
Now I just sit in the corner complaining
Making out things were best in the 80s
he also is completely unapologetic about it lol
