"The worst thing about a&w is it gaslit me into thinking the rest of the album could have benefited from a more diverse stylistic palette but then when you finally get that with Peppers it’s a fucking disaster and suddenly the Father John Misty song is a highlight"
lmao def agree with this

It's not for me...
Idk not too into their harmony

It’s my second fav, but if there were more tracks like a&w while still retaining that quality it probably wouldn’t be

@Colton I agree, don't think it's a bad song
She could have taken out Kintsugi, Sweet, and Margaret and I wouldn't have blinked an eye tbh

you guys are ridiculous, I knew you would give Lana a bad review just for the hell of it, thankfully you’re the absolute minority and thankfully Lana is universally beloved and admired nowadays. I don’t understand how this level of arrogance and spite does get to have say on the worth of a stellar album like Ocean Boulevard. Metacritic and Albumoftheyear are of course also at fault for giving such trolls a reviewing spot. Art is subjective but your takes on Lana are crowning achievements on artistic misinterpretation. When the music is that good, it always becomes entertaining seing how hard and sisyphean the struggle of the reviewer is to find (or better: invent) something bad to say. It’s just so out of proportion, one starts to wonder if there’s a personal antipathy towards Lana somewhere here. Because it’s clearly not about the music.
Edit: removing the second part because people can’t be serious. However the rest of the points still stand. The hate Lana has to endure could have stopped her from making art but luckily it didn’t. You all can laugh all you want but it takes courage to keep creating art and putting the contents of your soul out there. If you don’t like her music, that’s your right. But diminishing the quality of her music overally sais more about you than her.

'I’m not. I have in depth knowledge of music theory and listening experience with the majority of the most classic albums and bands in music history since the 60s. Lana is their equal both in complexity of songwriting and overal artistic impact. Anyone who tries to discard her because he gatekeeps “what consists good music” based on other genres and artists of the past is a moron and hypocrite. Her strength and ability to overshadow this hate train with devotion on keeping on creating and outdoing herself every time is the absolute archetype of a true artist. This generation is lucky to have her and (with small exceptions) has also finally realized it'
this has a navy seal copypasta feel to it
