This normally isn't my thing either but I have a fairly open mind when it comes to checking out when there is a lot of buzz on a particular album in the genre. Sometimes I am surprised how much I enjoy the highlights from year to year even though I tend to ignore the lesser releases of black metal almost intentionally

I jammed the first couple tracks before I had to head back into work, and holy shit this was entrancing. The screams are also different from a lot of the BM I don't like as much, so I'm hooked. Gotta make sure I listen to this in full soon

Extended intro to the opening track is some of the most effortless song writing I’ve heard for a long time. I’ve only had one full listen but very impressed.
