Crossbreed??? Do they have something new?

Naw it was meant to represent how I am with you all the way in the "fuck people who think they're better than the bands they grew up with" and "it's possible to explore new territories while still enjoying old favorites as well" points. I did listen to them though, haha. Alas, nothing new is going to come from them, as my avatar expresses, so I had to spin KE 101 and New Slave Nation for the 1000th time already. 2010 marked the death of Crossbreed.

In Driving Home, the vocalist's scream at 7:30 sounds exactly like Devin Townsend, as does the singing the

comes right after.

It's one thing to replicate a lot of the guitar tones and production, but that part of the song is so uncanny to

Townsend's solo work (vocally and instrumentally) it could be easily mistaken.

That said, it's pretty damn awesome and I don't mind the uncanniness.

Yeah. There's some definite Townsend influences here, but they don't comprise the entire album so it's okay. (not like Abigail's Ghost that basically rip off Porcupine Tree without much differentiation at all).

Just starting listening to this, pretty good so far. Ending of Driving Home was so awesome, I love the Townsend influence.

"These people that try to act like they can outgrow music because now they're cool and mature, and better than the bands they grew up with... they piss me off. If they were mature, they would understand that it's still possible to like that old shit while also just expanding their musical tastes."

This was a gem btw.

whats the obsession with virginity and "getting laid" in the review?

There's one mention of each of those things in the opening paragraph. Sounds like you're just a little too fixated.

It's definitely one of those albums that grows with each listen.

Getting on the new one, never heard these guys before.
