So my first listen was interrupted about a third of the way through Infinite Josh, and now that I've finally finished listening to this, it's incredible. The last three tracks are all amazing. I never got super deep into this band (as evidenced by me 4'ing Harmlessness because I'm pretty sure I confused it with Whenever If Ever) but this is something else. If I wasn't head over heels for Adjy this would be a legit AOTY contender

Oh yeah they’re talented for what they do in the past but this is a turning point.

I still do not understand immense love for Harmlessness and the lack of love for Always Foreign (my opinion was flipped), but absolutely stoked to see how well you are all receiving this one! Feels like their magnum opus and a perfect culmination of everything that came before.

This type of work definitely happens when you settle down, focus and trim the line up. That certainly helps lol but I didn’t really expect them to go full “emo prog” on this it’s a very unpredictable album.

The rest of the record is getting better every time I spin it. Though Invading[...] is still an album-high for me. That one is SO much fun, and I really hope moving forward they don't shy away from heavier songs like that masterpiece.

Invading is fucking amazing. Despite how it ends, that track really solid their new identity for me. Crazy big atmosphere and musicianship there.

oh wow, I'm blown away by this so far on my first listen. These guys have always been remarkably consistent, but I don't find myself returning to them that often. I could see this changing that

Oh I’m already returning. Makes me wanna re listen to their others, even though I doubt my opinions will change. You’ll never know though.

I still think I like Harmlessness better but it might be the nostalgia speaking. That album and this one are both incredible.
