Big [2]
One of the first records I ever listened too high and the opener’s plunge from pleasant airy strumming into Lovecraft chasm just about did me in forever

I get this is revered based on its release date and overall atmosphere, but there are better Esoteric albums after this one imho. I mean this is incredible at many points, there is an avant-garde nightmarish psych thing going on that is way ahead of its time, NOXBC is a proto psych metal classic track for example. These guys were playing Oranssi Pazuzu and mid-era Blut Aus Nord in the mid 90s, how incredible is that? But then there are inconsistencies and some dragging moments in here too. It's an album that reminds me to Disembowelment's when it comes to giving it a score, cause some parts are indeed 5 worth material but then the inconsistencies are very present too. Sometimes I feel I should 4'5 this but...
"i never listened to the remaster but tbh i feel like the lofi-ness of the original adds to the vibe"
I prefer the old version precisely because of that.
