Only on the second song but liking the riffs in ''Pneuma'' a lot. Very smooth transitions between different riffs.

The heavy bits on this feel so gutless it’s disappointing. There are highlights mostly found in cool chord progressions for me. It feels like a majority of this is the band just jamming. Some people will love that but I felt it get a bit tiresome as basically every “song” is well over the 10 minute mark. The good things suffer from being beaten to death with repetition. The ideas on Invincible, both lyrically and instrumentally, I found compelling but got bored of after a while. I wouldn't say it’s bad by any means but not incredible work.

I don't see what the issue is, this sounds like Tool but with some fresh new elements, what more do you fools want?

@coleba
You nailed my feelings on his contributions perfectly. It worked in the past but it's finally become detrimental to the music - his recording and writing style. It's disjointed here, and my favorite part of Tool, their cathartic big final choruses/moments/releases, are kind of gone, and in their place, just a lot of aimless noodling and jam-ish zone-out music.
Which is fine, it's great for what it is obviously, but this isn't the Tool I was hoping for.
My favorite album of theirs is also Laterualus because of how much I could connect to the themes and the cryptic lyrics. They are a little too on the nose here.

Choco Chip trip into 7emptest is actually a real high point for this act. It may take some people a good 10 years to acknowledge that which is fine

Maybe for Maynard to fly out to meet with the band once or twice and record some vocals alongside them? Big ask, I know.

''People are never satisfied''
that's because, even though it's not true, people feel they have been working on the album for 13 years

in the digital version there's a different song after Pnuema but on this version it's Invincible. Which order sounds best?

Yeah, I found the interludes to be kind of throwaway.

I loved the interludes.
