Any thoughts on the new song with Spencer from INK?
Feels pretty meh to me. All of Bayside's "hard rock" songs have been so samey for the last decade now. The verses are just sort of there and the chorus swells nicely but there's nothing about it that really makes it stand out from anything they've done before.

I'm still stuck on sirens and condolences man. Everything they do is good to great, but there's not enough deviation in the sound so whatever hits first will probably always hit hardest.

I feel like there's a pretty clear cut difference between the first two albums (and TWW to a lesser extent) and the rest.
Self-titled is my favorite and the reason I have a Bayside tattoo but it was also my first so it fits your statement.
Sirens and Self-titled are way more emo than the rest. I love The Walking Wounded, their first acoustic album, and Cult but I can do without the rest outside of some specific songs. I thought the Red EP was trending in a good direction so hopefully the new track is sort of an outlier.

walking wounded actually is a pretty unique album for them my bad forgot that one lmao. kinda see what you mean re: sirens but i dont hear much of a stylistic difference between s/t and the stuff after at all
my favorites from them are killing time, sirens, and walking wounded. never got the s/t love outside of devotion and desire but its still a solid album. my favorite song of theirs is winter by a considerable margin tho absolutely beautiful song

I've been listening to it the past few days and I feel like I've underrated it a bit over the past few years. Dear Your Holiness has some of their best harmonies and Popular Science has to be one of their most underrated songs.

I super like this and Vacancy quite a bit too. Cult and WW are a great time, as well. KT is very nice but has some of my lesser fave Baysides but also has the T/t and that rules so
I gots to get to first two and Shudder one of these days. These guys are super consistent so I'm pre sure I'll dig what I haven't heard regardless

Shudder definitely has a more laid back. Alt kind of sound but also has some of my favorites

Man, dunno how you haven't listened to their self-titled when it's their most popular. I love how emotional and sort of mellow it is. It has this cloudy day vibe to it that none of their other albums do. I always wonder how they would've progressed if Beatz hadn't passed away because I think he was the perfect drummer for them. I've never heard Chris do something like the drumming in We'll Be Okay.

You're missing out on their best work! You've gotta get on it. I think every song on the self-titled is flawless but Sirens and Condolences has Masterpiece, Poison in My Veins, A Synonym for Acquiesce, How to Fix Everything, Just Enough to Love You, and Guardrail. Shit, that whole album is incredible too.
I actually think Killing Time is their weakest output. I've never really liked it despite trying to play it in my car all the time back in high school.

Looks like Bayside's new album is the 6 songs from their mid Red and Blue EPs along with the two so-so singles they've recently released.
I think Anthony said that the EP songs weren't going to be on an album but it looks like they went back on that notion.
