The Act is cool, but I can understand why people didn't like it. Few duds that stick out like a sore thumb.
I would argue that Jeremy sounded better on that album than he does here tbh

Does Jeremy just not like to sing high anymore

"Seems like he didn't blow his voice out on The Act after all. Was just a stylistic change apparently"
Never really understood this narrative. The bridge and breakdown on The Thread is top prime Hrancia.

people liking this and shitting on The Act need to re listen to The Thread to trace back where this sound came from.

I also wanted to note that the Livestream for this alongside the visual material they have released for some of their previous LPs/EPs is top notch and I dont think people give them enough credit for it.

Yea this is basically an ep of Thread's. No complaints here tho
"Does Jeremy just not like to sing high anymore"
Wouldn't surprise me. Singing high notes live day by day can be brutal and not very gratifying when you can't hit them due to vocal exhaustion. Voice cracks when singing can be super frustrating.
His lower range works imo, I like the melodies they make keeping Jeremy's voice low

Well the band hates their older music because it was too "scene" (they're so fucking retarded, but I digress), and Jeremy's high-pitched vocals were probably one of the things they associated with that.

didn't know anyone would still die on a hill for their first two albums lol. absolutely embarrassing relics of a terrible era of xD metalcore with some of the worst production ever released to the mass market
still impressed that they aged into an actually good band somewhere along the way

Yeah, I really don't understand people who think their old stuff is better. For nostalgia's sake maybe. I revisited Plagues and Roots yesterday, neither did much for me anymore lol

Very good YES. Love the production too, bass sound actually reminds me of the first Zombie EP haha. Don't really see how it should be higher in the mix, it's high enough for me. Love how djenty Forlorn sounds

I see this is back up to a 4 again. Didn’t expect it to rise back up even if temporarily

Bands who worry about what others think about (blabla) are dumb.
It's supposed to be the other way around. When you grow up you stop caring if some teenage douche says you can't like or sound like something.

Compare it to the live session

almost none of their albums are good or interesting at all in my opinion. But I don't like metalcore style vocals. are they still going on about Christianity in the lyrics, too? Lol

I actually quite prefer Jeremy singing lower. Sure, it may not have as much of an impact on energy as it once did but I like that they're doing something most in this scene are not.

These guys seem to shine best when they stick to EPs, and the Zombie EP is one of my all-time favorite metalcore releases. This is daaaamn good.

This needs a feature at some point (after czarface, panopticon and twenty one pilots get their time to shine)
