Kids With Guns would be fine if it wasn't the second song on the album coming after an intro and an already-kinda-thin opener, album shoulda started with Dirty Harry and shunted KWG and Green World down to track 7 or thereabouts

So when I first heard Kids With Guns when I was like 13 or so I thought it was the stupidest song I’d ever heard and then one day it just clicked and became my favourite on the album. When I came back around on Gorillaz years and years later I was kind of over it but when I picked the album up on vinyl last year I realized that I love it again lol.

I fully cannot agree I love how Demon Days slowly builds its way up to the big hip-hop singles instead of loading them all at the front. makes it feel like an actual journey and not just some songs slapped together. a lesson this album could learn tbh

Honestly the way this album is assembled they should have just stuck with the “song machine” direction and never tried to write a concept album again

Kids With Guns is debatably my favourite Gorillaz song
yeah I think part of what makes Song Machine work is that it's just a bunch of random one off sessions, it almost accidentally recaptures that slapdash vibe of the older albums, even though those were doing it on purpose

Kids With Guns has got that chorus and outro and is very very tasty
Song Machine still best reunion album. Wonder what a Best of Nu Gorillaz album might look like

Yeah mostly a matter of swapping the lowlights on song machine for the highlights on Humanz, mine might be something like um
1. The Lost Chord
2. Cracker Island
3. Valley of the Pagans
4. Strobelite
5. Pink phantom
6. Aries
7. Saturnz Barz
8. Hollywood
9. Andromeda
10. Humility
11. Desole
12. Busted and Blue
And maybe throw Ascension or Momentary Bliss in there somewhere idk

Hollywood is mostly there from my vague memory of liking it when now now first dropped ngl, would not complain much about killing it in favor of she's my collar

I’ve realised the most aggravating component for me is the drums and percussion
definition of phoned in

tormenta reeks but at least it provides some well earned respite after all of the preceding bilge

Every production choice on this album is so not it, chief.

Fuck and I think that's the Stevie one. I better try that out at least

Oil is hookless and generic in the exact same way as silent running and new gold and tarantula and baby queen and probably another one I'm forgetting because it's hookless and generic
