I've only heard 'Slipknot' of this album and that's a great song. I would buy it if it wasn't out of print.

Good review, I've heard Do Nothing/Bitchslap and love the jazz and funk sections in it, though Tattered And Torn did nothing for me.

I'm kind of interested as to why, a month after I originally wrote it, this thread is suddenly becoming so popular. Not that that's a bad thing at all, though. :thumb:

But no, don't pay $30 for a burned copy. You can easily find it to download off Soulseek and just wait maybe fifteen minutes like I did.

Do Nothing/Bitchslap is awesome. The jazz part is just awesome. Its a pity Slipknot moved away from making creative music, but then again, I suppose there are so few original members anyways that you can't really expect them to turn out the same kind of stuff.

I've downloaded this album and musically I was really impressed it had a very original feel to it that really isn't present in Slipknot's new material.

That said, Anders is a fucking terrible singer and an even worse lyricist. I mean I know people hate Corey but I would take him over this douche any day of the week. When you've got at least 2 songs on your album written about a fucking videogame you need to be removed from the band as quickly as possible. I mean really, he was just aweful.

I got this a few years ago when I was a fan of Slipknot, and to be honest it just sounds like an extreme rip off of my new favourite band, Mr Bungle, seriously, they even wore masks when they started out.

If you have heard the song Carve, which you can download, you will notice that it shares some guitar riffs with that crappy new song "Before I Forget."

I'm reviewing their latest album next, so that should be done in about two weeks. And "Before I Forget" is lame.

I liked most of the stuff on the new album. That's surprising, since I generally hate most anything related to nu metal. I think with the latest they went above and beyond anything they've ever done (aside from this) and made something that was more than the nu metal they're usually grouped with.

Eh, the new stuff is as nu-metal as the old, it is just higher-tuned and such.
