I was just going to say, its nice to see you've added a bit of professionalism to your reviews now. BTW this so got bumped to a 4 simply because of the last half of this album. I can't stop listening to Heartless. This Message Edited On 01.24.08

I can see what you mean about the first half of the album, after quite a few listens, it does sound rather samey (except for Buried at Sea, I love that song, what can I say lol). But Sail this Ship just comes in like, "things are gonna be different now!" haha, and yeah, heartless is glorious. That, North Lane, and Low are my fav tracks, followed by Buried and Save Me. I like the rest, but I'll be the first to admit that they're relatively dispensable. I think, or rather I can feel, that whatever these guys do next is going to be really something.

Wizard,

I want to, but honestly, I don't know shit about instruments lol.

I'd be like, the bass makes this deep boing-boing sound, and then the guitars go weeeee! rarrrrr and I like that cause it sounds boss lol. I will eventually though, probably for the new Wintersun whenever that comes out.

Robots,

I was just now checking out the lyrics, better than average on most tracks I must say

While I've got people's attention, ya'll should check out these new guys, Be'Lakor. They're melo-death as far as I can tell, but they use a lot of different elements to make an extremely smooth, varied, and bad a$$ sound. They're as yet unsigned, but they're really really good, and since I found pretty much all my metal from this site, I figured I'd shout these guys out, they need some play. So if melo-death definitely isn't your thing, don't waste your time, but if you like bands like Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, ect, check 'em out, they slay, especially for a debut. You should add them to this website AngelPhoenix.

Trust me, the way you word your comments, I'm sure your reviews would sound more intelligent than your bad description above hahahaha. Don't knock yourself until you have tried it.

I really would recommend Nightmares over this but it's amazing how much this has grown on me. I can listen to it through it's entirety and it's always satisfying, particularly the latter half.

Ends on an extremely strong note too. Save Me is incredible.

i like the demo versions of you dont walk away from dismemberment and a portrait for the deceased... matt's vocals sound more natural, same reason i prefer architects now to nightmares: matt sounds like a robot who's voice is cracking

though nightmares is good

what? all of their songs all follow a linear song structuring and rely on build-ups

I'd honestly say these 2 album are on par. But you just cant beat the epicness of the breakdown at the end of The Darkest Tomb.

I saw em live in December supporting gallows in my home time of the boro, they w/font>ere quality live. Shame they aren't coming to an venue in the north really when they tour with Dead Swans. DS need more exposure on this site as well if you ask me.

And god how I love North Lane and Hunt Them Down atm. This Message Edited On 01.30.08

This would be much better if there was more variation in the vocals.

Still rules though.

Once more I am so jealous. >:[

Architects and Dead Swans rule hard.

I think the only thing that puts me off about this album is that Matt kind of sounds like a robot.
