I like this version of across the universe the best. slowing down the pitch makes it sound so much more surreal and somber to me and it works.

Dig a Pony and I, Me, Mine are the best this has to offer

I love Two of Us. Bad opener imo. should've started the album with Get Back.

Two of us sucks hard.
If this had Don’t Let Me Down and Ballad of John and Yoko instead of Two of Us, One After 909, and For You Blue, this could’ve been a good album.

eh, i like the Paul/John singing together dynamic. Agree on the other two though. Add in All Things Must Pass instead of Dig It.

Hell to the yes on "Don't Let Me Down", hard meh on "Ballad of John and Yoko" (not recorded during these sessions, has a very different feel to it IMO, and frankly is one of their weakest singles), and fuck no on removing any of those three tracks.
Just take out the two interlude tracks ("Dig It" and "Maggie May") and make "Don't Let Me Down" the penultimate track on Side 1, with "Let It Be" acting as the side closer.

"Two of Us" would have worked as a closer, Beatles going out on posi vibes, riding towards the horizon. And yeah, "Get Back" as the opener woud have been so much better, followed by 10 versions of "Across the Universe."

And yeah the naked version is probably the stronger version, but man I love the full orchestra version for the Long and Winding Road. Makes me tear up.

Why isn't Don't Let Me Down on this album tbh it'd fit the style well and is a classic

Right? The rooftop version is like a top ten Beatles song for me. Never gets old. At least we got it on the naked tracklist.
Honestly, there are a ton of Beatles singles that would have been awesome on albums, but just never made it. Another head scratcher is why "This Boy" was left off Hard day's night. I mean they even put the instrumental version in the film. Underrated little song in my opinion. It always makes me think of a sad Ringo roaming the streets, and taking pictures by the river.

ya this album is pretty bad. abbey road is also pretty grossly overrated but def better than this

Only a Northern Song was written during the Sgt. Pepper sessions and is WAY better than Within You and Without You, and Sgt. Pepper has a stunning lack of George, so that's probably the weirdest exclusion on in my opinion (there was even room for it since Sgt is only 39 mins)
Justice for George

“only a northern song” has good elements but it’s definitely not better than WYWY
