Is it just me or is the front cover giving off a Thunderbirds vibe

I think I know what you are getting at, something about the typeface.

Stylo reminds me of Gary Numan a lot

It is stunning the amount of notable guest stars featured on this album, and is even more stunning the fact they can not save the album to be a boring, uninspired piece of work. I agree with the first half of the review, and then I fail to see how this is any good; I do not buy any of it. I am hearing "Stylo" right now, and is...just okay. Not really the kind of stuff I would like to hear twice.

Damon Albarn is a talented man, and has gone very far with this "interesting" project - to put it kindly- but I feel he is pulling our legs 5/6 of the time. you would do easily better listening to anything else; musically Plastic Beach is not that interesting, and a lot of the songs are just bland. I am really impressed at the high ratings, I do not see a lasting value in this album.

Yeti:

It is basically a pop album, just not that fun. Everytime I listen to this, the very same song stands out to me: "Sweepstakes". Nothing else, and it takes eleven songs to get there. I found it hard to believe "Stylo" was actually a single; it surely has to have a great video, I can not imagine someone just listening to this. "Superfast Jellyfish" is one of the album's best (and we are talking of about four songs, tops), and it is just good.

Not in vain Albarn chose the word plastic for the album's title.

man i love this album; this has undoubtedly divded some fans though who think this album is lame becuase it doesn't have enough albarn. if you read the rise of the ogre book or gorillaz interviews, its not meant to be a damon solo project. this band was really meant to be more of a collaborative of musicians so stop complaining about lack of damon

great review Dev, pos.
one minor complaint at the beginning of the 2nd paragraph:

"Plastic Beach rolls along at an almost soothing pace and all the tracks on offer serve only to compliment each other"

you might've left out a word or two there

Hey this is a pretty good album; Welcome to the World, Rhinestone Eyes, and Stylo are best. Empire Ants was boring in the beginning but then got hot.

Rhinestone Eyes rule, Stylo as well as pretty much the whole album is still growing on me too.
