idk some hypnogogic pop comes close in, well, ethos but World of Echo is definitely unique in how it pre-dates it (although I detect a Nick Drake influence i think)

i looked up hypnagogic pop i like it. also, i feel it fits me perfectly. i'll wear it like a pear of

honestly though i think it's fair to say that hypnagogic pop replicates this shit in ethos and i don't get the John Maus comparison, don't really hear post-punk or dub in this but perhaps i'm a ~less sophisticated listener~
