Chris should start his own band and sing lead

That has potential. In any event, I really hope he'll be allowed to contribute even more for Muse's next album.

Like most people, I prefer earlier Muse, but "Resistance" and "Madness" were some pretty great tracks.
|
| |
Poor setlist , but no suprising since this is a support tour for the latest album (Which was one of the weakest ) .

The world's most self-important band.

Dammit, looks like i got a ghost neg...
Those are always fun.

You reviewed their setlist. You didn't like it. QQ
I'm one of the few people who enjoyed their last album.

Their last album wasn't as terrible as people make it out to be, but it wasn't great by any means.
|

Yeah I'd have to agree with the other comments here in that you've gone close to emulating merely your reviews of the last couple of albums; you need to keep your thoughts separate, it isn't about the quality of these songs but rather the quality of the performance. The setlist is only really an element of a live album and shouldn't be the only and final say on your rating.

I sort of see what you mean, and im always open to criticism and i truly do appreciate that you came out explained your neg
to me. At the same time, however, I completely disagree with what you are saying. I did compliment the performance of the
songs when necessary and I did state other elements of the album that I enjoyed or hated, such as when i said that I enjoyed
how well-produced the album was and how I disliked the audience's interruptions during certain songs. And you are plain
wrong about the setlist not being important; that is literally the most important part. How am I supposed to enjoy a live album if
the songs on the setlist are terrible? Pretty much the only different between this album and HAARP is that HAARP had a
fantastic setlist, so I was able to enjoy the album a lot more due to enjoying the songs more. Now, please tell me why
explaining that in my review warrants a "neg?"
|
| |
Because he's butthurt. You explained yourself well in the review and, while I may disagree with your rating, your writing was exceptional.
I'll pos it to counter his neg.

Thanks man, I really do appreciate it. Interesting how, right before j1's comment, this review randomly recieved three
similtaneous ghost negs right out of the blue. Weird...

I quite liked Survival, I have to say. It's the only song where Muse's ambition oand extravagance really made sense. I liked it much more than Panic Station or the crappy wob-wob song Follow Me.
This setlist was a huge disappointment, though. In the UK the setlist was far, far better

"The setlist is only really an element of a live album and shouldn't be the only and final say on your rating." I did concede an element, but I think a review is poorly written if it doesn't focus on the relevant components proportionally. Also there was a typo (though that's being a bit pedantic).

I get what you're saying but what do you expect? Bands are going to play their hits live almost 90% of the time. This is mainly because a common person (or majority) going to watch them would just be listening to them on the radio guaranteed. This is how they make money. They play b sides and songs people don't know they will lose a lot of ticket sales in the future. I know you would call it a, "sellout" but I mean they're just doing what almost all artists do, play the songs people react to. that being said I do agree there were a lot of great songs they left off and I'm not a big fan of the 2nd law in comparison to Absolution and earlier albums.

I understand your sentiment, but you're still missing the point. Their hit singles are just bad songs, whether they're the songs the bands are supposed to be playing or not. "Starlight" and "Supermassive Black Hole," although they have proved to successful in the charts, are terrible songs, and as a result the album suffers for containing them.
