I’ve always appreciated the way they’re able to seamlessly mix influences like John Carpenter, Sabbath, Moriccone and film scores, whilst also keeping a heavy groove to their music.

Nice review. I love this band and Chalice Hymnals is as good as anything else they've done.

True, Aluk. They were maybe doing some post-rock with Redlight or The Burden of Hope but they have been incorporating a lot of that sound collage that Hall and Amos tend to do with Lilacs & Champagne in the last records and I love how personal they sound now. Loving that Carpenter allusion there, on point.

@dewinged im not really seeing the comparison very much. there are moments here and there but overall this feels like quite a different record to me. im happy with it though, it does not disappoint.

I see, umm, interesting, I mean I know they went a bit further with electronics and such but it feels to me quite close to Deep Politics overall. Anyway, I am glad you liked it man.

It didn't grab me at first neither Pots, but it has grown overtime, some nasty tunes in there.

Btw I was jamming some Lilacs & Champagne the other day and you were the only one to rate some of their stuff. I thought: "Potsy knows the good shit."

Not my intention Storm, I would tell you or anyone else the same given the situation.
