I wholeheartedly disagree they were ever mediocre, even their very first release - the Ancient Sorrow EP - had a couple fucking brilliant tracks on it. The band's potential has been present for many years. What they lacked for so long, to most, was a purposeful focus. They spent many years essentially playing around and figuring out the parameters of their sound and composition.
In any case, *insert subjectivity point*, I'm loving all the positivity surrounding the band!
