this album is like if angelo de augustine wrote an album but listened to mark hollis in a secluded cave 24/7 before recording it aand then he looks in the mirror and he realises he's actually Grouper and so can do anything she wants so she deigns to give us this
and she marries me

this is turning out to be pretty polarizing.
definitely doesn't feel as immediate as ruins, but successive listens have been rewarding i must say

I got to jam this last night. Thought it was lovely. Kinda more into this than the other album I heard. Which of her other albums sound like this?

Ruins would be my first thought but
the Headache "single" is better than most people's discogs and captures this ethereal vibe well so

“headache” is excellent yeah

Coming back to this after new jon hopkins and monae, this seems a little boring. Ruins is much better

like ruins minus the good songs

Looking forward to hearing this.
In around 2009 I saw Grouper live at a festival. A friend of mine was very drunk and as we entered the room no one was talking, just listening to a quiet passage of her music, after about five second he announced "this is a load of shit" loudly and left the room. As disrespectful as it was it was very funny.
