The only thing this has in common with the Fall is American state names & the proximity to which it came out after the last album

Surprised at some of the 4s and 4.5s, I'm not getting that. There are a some nice tracks but definitely a good amount of phoned-in filler. Album is a little lazy

this doesnt have any of the low lows of humanz but, apart from the first two tracks, it lacks the highs as well. an inoffensively bland listen

I'd say at least half these tracks were solid keepers

The other half is kinda what keeps me from compulsively throwing it on tho

I had a good week or 2 w/ it at least

These songs shine more when you put this album on shuffle with other music. Too repetitive and plodding from beginning to end, but each song is good by its own right. Certainly more consistent than Humanz.

From that recent Facebook post it seems they're going on hiatus after this tour.

Damon Albarn could beat the shit out of me and take my lunch money and I'd probably give it a 4.5

I'm not interested, I lost my enthusiasm for the band since plastic beach

Y'all seen the video for Tranz tho? I loved that shit so much

But yeah, I'm ready for Albarn to do some other shit as well, by this point. Gorillaz has just kind of seemed like a platform for abandoned projects & D to be a frontman outside of Blur for the past 10 years or so, not to say the music hasn't been good. But like, if he's gonna do that, might as well call a spade a spade & have it be under an actual "real people" project instead of running G'z like a brand vehicle

The videos from this album have been pretty good all considering. I still love the Humility video.

Meh, this album was quite boring to me, I get the vibe they are going for but Gorillaz thrive more on energetic tracks imo
