Vaxis Act II: A Window Of The Waking Mind announced.
Typical countdown timer on their website set to reach 0 on Friday, should be the preorder link.
Based on the two singles released so far, Shoulders was your typical modern Coheed rocker but Rise Nainasha was my favourite single from the band in a while.

wow I hate that album art. Looks like a lame videogame from the early 2000s that had a massive idea but ended up getting slopped together and playing clunky

I'll believe that album art when there's an official announcement...right now that's just the image on their website.

Revisited Cut the Cord and that song fucking slaps tbh. Even if Coheed really just seem like a bigger, dumber version of what they used to be they still usually wind up pretty enjoyable to me.

It seems like it's probably the album artwork considering each of the singles have used a fragment of it. I don't mind it. Personally, I like that they're leaning heavily into the concept on this series of albums.

The only thing I'm a little worried about is that Vaxis is going to retcon everything that happened in the Amory Wars. Because that story is sick and if it turns out that this character is the REAL savior of the universe I'm gonna lose a lot of interest.

I have probably spent literal years of my life listening to coheed and I still have no idea what the story is TBH.

"I have probably spent literal years of my life listening to coheed and I still have no idea what the story is TBH."

Same with me. It's not because I wouldn't find it interesting, I've just never had the time.

I've read the novel for YoTBR, the graphic novels for SSTB, IKSSE:3, and GA. Haven't read the story for Afterman but I have a good idea and Vaxis 1 musically does not line up with the story in the least bit which irks the hell out of me.

Okay so yeah looks like that is in fact the album art/tracklist.

Hoping for some more jams like Cut the Cord.

Meh, in conjunction with the end of the last album and some of the titles there ("Old Flames" in particular) it makes sense. Their child is an ember of their flame.

Undeniably Coheed, but missing that special something.....

There are no absolute epic tracks, nor godly suites that demand a full listening to and get the feels going.

Just solid

100% Certain Claudio literally just talked about the thing in an interview or two.....
