OF COURSE the first fucking other user first to comment on this thread mentions a fucking TND '10/10 I never gave a shit before then' band. Fucking Daughters?! Xui Xui have been being weird for years bro!

Daughters and Xiu Xiu are amazing but yeah they got nothing in common. Daughters feel more influenced by stuff like Swans and This Heat whereas Xiu Xiu I feel take more from Coil.

@GooGoo: Xui Xui huh? Interesting. Anyway I agree that no-one should be talking about that band and I'm pretty sure Daughters have nothing on these guys when it comes to weirdness, not even close.

Because people discover something 'fresh' that's also generated some hype and then immediately compare it every single thing ever, as they lack the knowledge to use more suitable comparisons.

I like it. A lot of interesting sounds to pick up. Very detailed production. I know nothing really of this group. Who creates these instrumentals?

lot of it comes down to Jamie and Angela Seo, although they got a lot of percussionists for this one to go with them and Devin Hoff and Ches Smith. Despite popular belief, Thor Harris and Jordan Geiger are not on this. They are the newest members of the band, but this album was nearly completed when Jamie announced they were joining the band. Also, Eugene from Oxbow is on this.

would personally put this smack dab in the middle of their catalog, somewhere between Angel Guts and The Air Force

OK I'm gonna continue the madness of comparing this to DG, insofar as...doesn't this dude sound just like MC Ride on the first and in particular the second track?? am I wrong???

@Fripper that's fair to say given the chronology but my point is Jamie Stewart -usually- doesn't sound like this, although I'm really only familiar with this album and the first half of their discography
