As I say in the review, I don't mean to bash Arif. His work was fantastic. But Rody's voice and melodies are such a big part of the band, and I really think he's better suited singing his own lyrics. He's also become a much stronger writer since Scurrilous.

This is on par with Fortress and Scurrilous for me. Better than Volition and Pacific Myth for sure. I really get what you are saying about Arif lyrics vs. Rody, his lyricism is especially strong here, he has grown a lot since scurrilious. Arif's lyrics on Fortress though were incredible ... I can see why it would rustle some feathers you suggesting that.

No doubt that Arif wrote some of my favorite lyrics ever. But I was always really aware of those moments where it was clear that Rody was doing his best to cram words he didn't write into a predetermined song structure
